If your Primary School could do with new sports equipment then read on....

As an initiative to inform kids about better nutrition and healthy living, Goodman Fielder Baking (the maker of Wonder bread) is giving away packs of sports equipment to every school that participates in the Wonder School program and collects the required amount of specially marked empty bread bags.

Just register your school and tell your students, their families and their friends to start collecting specially marked empty Wonder bread bags. See twicethefibre.com.au for the participating range.

Collection dates are between 1st July and 30th September 2008.

For Parents & Friends

If you would like your local school to be involved, simply talk to your local school's Principal or fundraising committee to register on this site, or you can email this message to them.

How to sign up your School

1) To participate in the Wonder School program, simply register here and complete your school's details.

2) Shortly after, you will receive a confirmation email and a welcome pack in the post. The welcome pack will include details on how to get your school involved, including promotional support posters to display around your school.

3) Once registered, you will also receive access to the Wonder School Tool Kit section of this site. This section of the website offers useful tools to encourage kids and parents and build support for the program - such as artwork for school newsletters, easy tips on how to collect bags around your school, useful nutritional information and how to drive participation.

4) Collection of specially marked empty Wonder bread bags will commence from 1st July to 30th September 2008.

5) Throughout the promotion send us your specially marked empty Wonder bread bags in boxes of 500 with your Wonder bread bag collection form, which can be downloaded from the School Tool Kit section of this site after you register.

Key dates to take note for bag collection are:

  • 8th October 2008: To be eligible to enter the Wonder Games and Cash Prize component empty bags must be received by this date
  • 14th October 2008: To be eligible for sports equipment, empty bags must be received by this date

The Wonder Games - State Final**

The top 5 Schools in each state/territory combination (NSW/ACT, VIC, SA, QLD, WA) that collect the most specially marked empty Wonder bread bags per student will be eligible to qualify for their Wonder School Games state final.

The Wonder Games will be held in venues in the following capital cities on these dates***:

  • Sydney 4th November 2008
  • Melbourne 7th November 2008
  • Adelaide 10th November 2008
  • Perth 18th November 2008
  • Brisbane 25th November 2008
  • Wonder Games Grand Final - Sydney 14th December 2008

The Wonder Games will be a fun day out for students to learn about nutrition and being active. Schools will need to select a team of 8 participants aged 10 -12 years old to represent their school in a series of fun and interactive nutritional games. Before each game, students and supporters will be given a nutritional lesson by the Wonder Games host.

Schools will be encouraged to support their team on the day (up to 250 students per school). The Wonder Games will be an interactive experience for both participants and supporters.

The Wonder Games - Grand Final

The two highest scoring state finalists, will win the opportunity to participate in the National Grand Final of the Wonder Games to be held in Sydney and will be broadcast by Nickelodeon. Schools will need to select a team of 4 participants to travel to Sydney to compete in the Grand Final, the prize includes flights, accommodation and meals.

**Tasmania and the Northern Territory are not included in the Wonder Games, alternatively they will each be eligible to win $10,000 for the School that collects the most empty bags per student per School.
