Wonder Games - Stage 1 (State/Territory-based)

  14. On 10/10/2008 (or other such date within 1 week of 10/10/2008 as the Promoter determines is convenient), the Promoter will assess the entries received for the Wonder Games component of the promotion and determine which schools are the 5 schools in the State and Territory combinations (set out below) that each collected the highest number of specially marked empty Wonder bread bags per student (each a "Stage 1 winning school"). Each Stage 1 winning school will be eligible to participate in the State/Territory-based Wonder Games Competition for that State/Territory combination. State/territory combinations are: NSW/ACT; VIC; SA; WA; and QLD. In the event of a tie between two or more schools in a particular State/Territory combination when determining which schools are the Stage 1 winning schools for that State/Territory combination, the tied schools will be required to form a team of 4 students to participate in a nutrition-based quiz at a date, time and location to be advised to the school by the Promoter. One point will be awarded for each question answered correctly, and the school that receives the highest number of points will be deemed a Stage 1 winning school. The specific terms of the tie breaker will be advised by the Promoter at the relevant time.

  15. The Stage 1 winning schools must confirm that they are able to participate in the Wonder Games Competition for their State/Territory combination on the required date, must provide the names of each student in their team (the details of team requirements are set out below), and must provide the legal releases requested by the Promoter as outlined in these Conditions in Entry within 2 days of being successfully notified by the Promoter that they have been deemed a Stage 1 winning school, otherwise they will no longer be considered a Stage 1 winning school. If they are no longer considered a Stage 1 winning school, the Promoter will deem the school who received the next highest number of specially marked empty Wonder bread bags as the Stage 1 winning school, and repeat this process until a Stage 1 winning school who is able to attend the relevant Wonder Games Competition and provide the required legal releases is found. If required, the tie breaker process referred to above will be applied to determine a replacement Stage 1 winning school.

  16. In order to participate in the State/Territory-based Wonder Games Competition, each Stage 1 winning school will be required to form a team of 8 students. Each student in the team must be aged between 10 - 12 years. The composition of each team is to be determined by each Stage 1 winning school in its sole discretion. • Game 2 - Nutrition Quiz: In this game, 2 players from each team will compete in a nutrition quiz, whereby the 5 teams will be asked a series of questions, and the team that hits the buzzer first and answers the question correctly will receive 10 points per question.

    • Game 3 - Build the Ultimate Lunchbox Game: In this game, each team (or a specified number of players in each team, as determined by the Promoter in its sole discretion), will be required to select mock ingredients to be included in an ultimate lunchbox. Each ingredient will have a certain number of points allocated to it. 10 points will be awarded for every healthy option the team selects, and minus 10 points will be awarded for every unhealthy option the team selects.

    • Game 4 - Feed Me Good Food: In this game, teams will be given a pre-game lesson on key facts about nutrition. Each team will then be asked to select food items with the highest nutritional content from a mixture of food props placed next to them. Teams will then need to throw the selected items into an oversized mouth. Each piece of food will have a certain number of points allocated to it, and teams will be awarded these points for each item that lands in the mouth. Unhealthy options will have minus points and if a team throws them in the mouth, points will be deducted.

  19. The team in each State/Territory who has accumulated the highest number of points in that State/Territory's Wonder Games Competition at the conclusion of each Wonder Games Competition will be deemed the winning school for that State/Territory (each a "Stage 2 winning school"). In the event of a tie between two or more schools, the teams from those schools will be required to answer an additional Nutrition Quiz question, and the team that hits the buzzer first and answers the question correctly will be deemed the Stage 2 winning school.

  20. The precise rules applying to each game (as outlined above or as otherwise advised to the players) will be provided to the players prior to their participation in the State Wonder Games Competition. The Promoter (and its agents) have the sole and absolute discretion to determine the games to be played and their rules, award points, determine the ultimate State-based winning team and stipulate standards of behaviour at the Wonder Games Competition. The Promoter (and its agents) may prohibit any student from participating in the Wonder Games Competition on the grounds of misbehaviour at their absolute discretion. The Promoter's (and its agents') decision in relation to all aspects of the Wonder Games Competition is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

  21. Each Stage 2 winning school will win their choice of either one (1) sports-related package for their school valued at up to $15,000.00 (Recommended Retail Price including GST) OR one (1) playground for their school valued at up to $15,000.00 (Recommended Retail Price including GST). The precise components of the sports-related package will be determined by the Promoter (or its nominated agents) in consultation with the Stage 2 winning school at the relevant time. The playground prize will include installation and Mulch Softfall & Edging (wood-chip base). Each Stage 2 winning school will be responsible for preparing the site for installation, which includes but is not limited to ensuring the area is cleared, level and unencumbered. It is a requirement under Australian Standards to have a "soft fall" area around the playground equipment with a free fall height greater than 500mm, utilising a safety clearance of 2.5m in an unsupervised area and 1.9m in a supervised area, and it is the responsibility of each Stage 2 winning school to ensure compliance with these standards. If any rock or hard digging on the site is required during installation, the Stage 2 winning school will be responsible for any additional costs associated with this. A full brief in respect of the playground prize will be provided to each Stage 2 winning school when they are notified that they have been deemed a Stage 2 winning school. Each Stage 2 winning school will also be responsible for the repair or relocation of any existing service lines during the installation work, if applicable. Each Stage 2 winning school will be responsible for maintenance costs, and for removing the playground if they wish to do so at a later stage. The playground will be delivered to each Stage 2 winning school within 12 weeks from the date of the relevant State/Territory-based Wonder Games. Wonder Games - Stage 2 (National)
